Every week or two, we’ll be using the blog to reacquaint you with some familiar faces: our baristas. Find out how they got into this mess in the first place and more. We’re moving on to round eight with Lucia.
Name: Lu Nisenson
Store: Dupont right now, but I have worked at almost all of the DC shops. Sometimes I’m at the factory too doing some admin work.
Years with Dolcezza: Around two.
How do you take your coffee? I take my coffee with soy milk. Not because O like it better than the regular milk, but soy is healthier. I drink a shot of espresso in the morning when I’m dialing in, and then a latte later in the day.
What made you want to work for Dolcezza? I came from Buenos Aires basically to work for Dolcezza (the family business).
What do you do when you’re not at work? When I’m not at work I’m in class, and when I’m not in class I spend time with Jacob (my boyfriend), my dog Dexter, my father and the rest of the family. I like to go out and eat good food. I’m getting into mixology so i enjoy making cocktails at home. My days are very long so when I’m free I try to rest.
Favorite coffee region: Latin America first for sure, and then Africa.
Affogato of choice: Pistachio is my favorite flavor ever for everything.
Favorite music to play in the shop: I like 90’s rock, or the Massive Attack pandora station.
Funniest/weirdest Dolcezza story: We are all weird and funny at Dupont: employees and customers. Everyday is a new story, and I have tons, some I can’t tell you. But for me something very weird is when a customer orders two gelato flavors like chocolate amargo and vanilla, and then doesn’t know which is which.
