Every week or two, we’ll be using the blog to reacquaint you with some familiar faces: our baristas. Find out how they got into this mess in the first place and more. We’re moving on to round eleven with Ludmilla.
Name: Ludmila Villarroel
Store: Mom and Pop
Years with Dolcezza: I started working for Dolcezza when i was 16, now I am 28. 12 years, but not consecutive years
How do you take your coffee? One and a half shot cappuccino with skim milk.
What made you want to work for Dolcezza? When I was in high school, I was helping my family financially. I had one job after school but they wouldn’t give me more hours because I was a student. So I wanted a second job, when I applied at Dolcezza Georgetown, I never thought I was going to get hired!
What do you do when you’re not at work? When I am not working, I am making Alfajores for Dolcezza! I also love to read; no matter how tired I am, I read one hour before going to sleep everyday.
Favorite coffee region: I really like Guatemalan coffee.
Affogato of choice: I would rather have the gelato and espresso separate. If I had to choose, I would do a Valrhona Dark Chocolate Affogato.
Favorite music to play at work: Before opening the store I like listening to Babasonicos (an Argentine band). During my shift, I like Radiohead.
Funniest/weirdest Dolcezza story: it always surprises me that people don’t know what they order. Now that I am a Barista, customers are constantly trying to get a drink they didn’t order. There was this guy that order a latte, but before that i had an order for a Vanilla Latte with Soy Milk. After I finished the vanilla latte with soy milk i called it out, and this guy got it. I knew it wasn’t his order, but when he was drinking it, he seemed satisfiedied. And stories like this happen everyday!
