Our gelato has been in Whole Foods Markets freezers for a few years now, and in the past year, our pints have made their way to freezers across the Mid-Atlantic and even the North region. We’ve always been fans of collaboration, so when Whole Foods asked us to make some custom flavors with creameries and dairies that are also sold on their shelves, it was a no-brainer.
Starting March 1st, you’ll find limited edition Cheese Gelato collaborations at select Whole Foods. The pints will change every three months or so, which means a new creamery, new cheese, and whole new flavor.
We’re kicking things off with a Goat Cheese, Almond & Fig Jam Gelato, made with goat cheese from FireFly Farms in Accident, MD. FireFly cheeses have won Good Food Awards as well as national and international cheese awards. At least one third of their operation’s energy is sourced from solar panels, making them an incredibly sustainable farm. We’ve been selling alongside FireFly for years at the Dupont Circle FreshFarm Market, and we’re excited to kick off this series with such great neighbors.
