this year was one of the worst years on record for this year was one of the worst years on record for our mid Atlantic fruit farmers. on april 20th, the temps dropped below freezing and a lot of the farmers we know lost up to 80% of their orchard fruits .. peaches, plums, apricots, cherries, apples, pears, quince, etc. that’s why we had ZERO plum sorbet, or apricot, or white nectarine, etc. this year. we’ve always chosen to rides the waves with the local farmers and when they don’t have any fruit because of weather problems, we don’t have make that flavor. we could always buy the fruit from elsewhere in the country from the national distributors, but it just ain’t the same. once we tasted the good shit, we wed for life ♾️ luckily we’re getting yellow peaches from @toigoorchards, who we’ve worked with for 20 years, and we roast the hell out of those peaches to concentrate the sugars, flavors, sweetness & brightness and then make a puree out of it, leaving most of the pulp and skins for flavor (duh!?) and that’s what makes our PEACHES & CREAM come get it while you can 🍑 it’s gone when it’s gone #dolcezzagelato #toigoorchards #peaches #ridethewaves
